The SJCHS headquarters in Three Rivers offers a comprehensive collection of historical materials relevant to the history of St. Joseph Co. and the surrounding areas.

One Room School Archives

St. Joseph Co. MI had approximately 125 one room schools, of those we house photographs, records and histories on 101 of them. The school archives include a vast array of information accessible by township, location, and school name. The collection also includes pupil records, and composite school class pictures 1850 to 1960's.Yearbooks,memorabilia and class  reunion materials are on display. A fine resource for your family research!

General County Reference Collections

Our general reference collections are known for their comprehensive research materials relating to the history of St. Joseph Co. MI and the surrounding area. We have deeds, census and court records, photographs, township and village references.  Our first source materials are a fine asset for those looking for original documents, images and resources. Just completed is an indepth collection on soldiers serving in the Civil War and World War II from St. Joseph Co.

Looking for sources relating to your family genealogy?  We have many resources readily available including family histories, obituaries, deeds, wills and estate papers, town directories 1871- 2010, photographic collections and highly skilled archivists ready to help!
